Our Assets
Bowles Lake
The “heart” of the community, Bowles Lake is the main site of our recreational and picnic facilities. Bowles Lake (also referred to as Patrick Bennett Lake) covers approximately 100 acres. The lake provides us with a variety of year-round recreational activities including swimming, sailing, fishing, and skating. A long history of sailing on Bowles Lake makes this a special asset of BMOI. The Bow Mar Yacht Club is a nationally registered yacht club and oversees the organized sailing activities including Junior sailing program, and adult and junior regattas.
The stocked lake offers fishing with Walleyes, bass, carp, wipers and Northern Pikes among other species.
Bow Mar Beach
Located on the eastern shore of Bowles Lake, the Bow Mar Beach is a favorite place for Bowmartians, their family and friends. A restricted swimming area contains floating swim docks, slides and trampoline. Our separate swim area for swimmers of different skills make it the perfect place to spend your Summer days. Lifeguards are present from Memorial Day through Labor Day. While on the beach, enjoy the childrens' playground area, volleyball, bocci ball or table tennis. Many B.M.O.I. events are held here throughout the year.
Adjacent to the Beach is the picnic area for families to enjoy cook outs and summer concerts.
BMOI owns approximately 47 acres of open space bordering the east and north shorelines of Bowles Lake.
Marina
Adjacent to the Bow Mar beach, BMOI maintains marina facilities for use by its members. The marina was rebuilt in 2017 and currently has capacity for XX pontoon boats and XX motor boats. In addition, BMOI maintains boat storage lockers on premise for use by members to store paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and sail boats. No jet skis are allowed.
Tennis
BMOI operates eight tennis courts are available for year-round play. Four courts at the beach and four at Marston Meadows offer opportunity for all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport of tennis. The Marston Courts were rebuilt in 2018. The Bow Mar Tennis Club oversees the organized tennis activities including adult and junior tennis instruction and USTA match play. Bow Mar Tennis is a registered Community Tennis Organization under the US Tennis Association.
Marston Meadows
Nestled in the center of Town, Marston Meadows is open park space and home to the Marston Tennis Courts, Marston field and half-court basketball.
