Junior Tennis Program

Little Lobbers
Ages 4-7 who are just getting started in tennis. The over-sized red ball, smaller court and lower net are perfect for learning the basics of the game. Lessons focus on stroke fundamentals, hand-eye coordination, fitness and on having lots of fun.
Future Stars
Ages 6-10 who are not quite ready for match play or are newer to tennis. Players will use the Orange Dot ball and practice on a 60’court.
The emphasis of these practices will be to provide these players with the fundamentals
of the game of tennis and prepare them for match play.
Junior Team Tennis
Ages 8-18; Junior Team Tennis is a program of practices and match play for boys and girls who want to play tennis on a team.
Teams are comprised of players of similar gender, age, and skill and they compete against other teams from the Denver Metro area in one of four age divisions:
- 10 & under
- 12 & under
- 14 & under
- 18 & under
Within these age divisions, there is a level for beginner, intermediate and advanced players. The format for Junior Team Tennis is 1 singles match and 1 doubles match and 3 players are required for each match. The team winning the most games wins the team match.
Junior Matches
Home matches are played at the Marston and the Beach Courts. Away matches are played at various locations around Denver.
Bow Mar Tennis Apparel
All Junior Team Tennis participants are encouraged to purchase a shirt for match play but it isn’t required.
Players participating in Future Stars or Little Lobbers may also purchase a T-shirt but it is not required.
Pickleball
America's fastest growing sport is also Bow Mar's newest sport and we have lots of activities scheduled to get everyone out on Bow Mar's beautiful new courts this summer.
How to Play
This How to Play Video provides a great overview on how the game of pickleball is played. In under 10 minutes you will learn the fundamentals of scoring, serving, rules around “the kitchen”, and how a game is played out.
Open/Drop-In Play
All three courts are reserved for Open Play from 7AM to 10AM everyday of the week. This means that you will have the opportunity to play with different players in a recreational and fun setting. Bow Mar’s Pickleball courts have a paddle stacker. To join in play, place your paddle in the paddle stacker. Once a court is open and you have four players, your group will move to the open court where you will play your game. After you finish your game, rotate off the court and restack your paddle for the next available court. Repeat as often as you like.
Reserve a Court
Courts may be reserved at any time outside of the open play hours of 7 AM to 10 AM daily. To reserve a court, please access YourCourts system linked below.

Hi everyone,
I'm Ryan Baird, and I'm thrilled to be joining the team as your new Racquets Director!
Tennis has been a passion of mine since I first picked up a racquet back in grade school in Northwest Ohio. My love for the game grew through four years of high school tennis, tournaments, and never leaving the tennis courts as a kid.
I continued on to Miami University in Oxford, where I played on the club team and began teaching lessons on campus. After college, I pursued my passion for teaching full-time in Sylvania, Ohio, eventually becoming the Director of Tennis at the Sylvania Country Club. It was there that I truly discovered my calling, developing and curating engaging tennis and pickleball programs for the community to enjoy and be proud of.
I love working with players of all ages and skill levels, from juniors just starting out to seasoned adult players.
After visiting Denver over the Summer around 10 years ago, I realized Colorado was the place that I wanted to be and moved West almost immediately. Since then I have been teaching at clubs around South Denver and couldn’t be happier in Colorado.

I’m really excited to join the Bow Mar community and get started planning fun and challenging tennis programming, along with a full calendar of social events that everyone can enjoy. I can’t wait to meet you all on the courts!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or anything else you may need!
